Title:THE GEOMETRY OF LEGENDRIAN SUBMANIFOLDS IN THE HEISENBERG GROUP

Abstract:

 The geometry of Equilibrium Thermodynamics is well-known. In thermodynamics the major role is played by the maximum dimensional integral submanifolds of the contact distribution, by the so-called Legendrian submanifolds (Legendre submanifolds). In this talk, I will introduce the uniqueness and existence questions for Legendrian submanifolds in the Heisenberg group via Cartanís method of moving frames and the theory of Lie groups.
